Art is a form of creative play for me, and I am constantly trying new things. This is one of a number of works I have made combining real and fantasy objects. The canoe and its inhabitants were captured in a photo of canoers passing the dock of my island home on Lake Winnipausakee in New Hampshire. I created the fantasy object, the water, and the sky and adjusted the lighting from my imagination using 3d computer modeling and texturing programs. This is a work of fractal art into which I inserted the canoe image. Notice how the mathematical algorithms realistically show the reflections of both the fantasy object and the real canoe in the ripples of the water. I like to show things that are not but could possibly be - alternative possible expressions of reality.
