A walk from where I live, a path off the winding road leads past a ball field to a small pond. It is in the woods, tucked away behind an institutional home for retired Jesuits. This is also one of our favorite walk-ways. Often for me, a photo is just a starting place. In this case I worked with the original photo to give it a painting-like quality and to express the fall colors fully. The sky was too drab and needed help with a few fractal clouds. The resulting work gives a much better feeling for the place and time of year than did the original photo.
